Overview

Another SandForce SF-2281 comes to consumers with AData's S510 series SSD. This SATA III drive is capable of delivering sequential read speedof 550 MB/s as well as a sequential write speed of 500 MB/s. The 120 GB variant boasts 85,000 IOPS at 4K random write. 60 GB is the only other capacity available. AData also provides speeds for multiple data transfers for the drive. In this context, the 120 GB drive reaches 200 MB/s read speed and 140 MB/s  write speed while the 60 GB drive reaches 200 MB/s read speed and 75 MB/s write speed.

The S510 series drive contains asynchronous MLC Flash modules which means it is cheaper. The synchronous version of this drive is the S511 series. The drive comes with a three year warranty and an MTBF of 1,000,000 hours. TRIM command is supported by this SSD to slow down efficiency decline as well as extend the life of the drive. Similar to other drives of this generation, the S510 series can withstand 1500 G of force and has an operating temperature of zero to 70 degrees. The solid state drive comes with a 3.5 inch mounting bracket. Users can choose either a color box or a notebook pack for the 120 GB variant.

Reviews

  • “Overall, I find that the AData S511 SATA 3 SSD is a another of the many similar ‘SandForce Driven’ SSDs that we have seen recently but with a few extras that have to be considered. It’s price speaks of excellent value, it comes with a desktop adapter and, quite unexpectedly, we were surprised that the kit was bundled with Acronis Software. The AData S510 gets my full recommendation!”
