Overview
In Western Digital's consumer SSD lineup, Green is the entry-level tier below the mainstream Blue. The WD Green SSD, released in 2017, uses WD/SanDisk 3D TLC NAND without DRAM cache, with 545–550 MB/s sequential read and 430–475 MB/s write. The WD Blue 3D includes DRAM cache and has higher sustained write throughput. Available in 120GB, 240GB, 480GB, and 1TB, all with a 3-year warranty.
TBW per capacity: 40 at 120GB, 80 at 240GB, 160 at 480GB, and 400 at 1TB. The drive is suited to boot and light application storage; sustained write workloads exhaust the SLC cache quickly. The drive also shipped in an M.2 SATA (2280) form factor (WDS*G0B suffix) with identical specifications.
