Phison SATA III (6 Gb/s) 2 drives in database
The Phison PS3105-S5 is a budget SATA III controller built around a 32-bit ARC 600 RISC/DSP processor core, with support for 128MB or 256MB of DDR cache. It appears in entry-level drives including the Crucial V4 and Patriot Torqx 2. Despite the SATA III interface, contemporary reviews noted that the PS3105-S5 was a performance bottleneck: sequential and random throughput fell well below what SATA III and the paired NAND could sustain. Phison did not publish a datasheet for this controller.
