Silicon Motion SM2262
Silicon Motion PCIe 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.3 28nm (TSMC) 2 drives in database
The Silicon Motion SM2262 is a 4-channel PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe controller released in 2018 and manufactured on TSMC's 28nm process. It is a DRAM-equipped design targeting mid-to-high-end NVMe performance with sequential reads of up to 3,500 MB/s.
The SM2262 supports NVMe 1.3, hardware AES-256 encryption, and end-to-end data path protection. It was designed as a cost-effective alternative to Phison's E12 for brands without their own controller IP. Drives using the SM2262 include the HP EX920 and Intel SSD 760p.
