Silicon Motion SM2267
Silicon Motion PCIe 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.4 TSMC 12nm FinFET 2 drives in database
The Silicon Motion SM2267 is a PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe controller released in 2019, manufactured on TSMC's 12nm FinFET process with a dual-core ARM Cortex-R5 CPU. It supports DRAM cache and targets the mid-range consumer segment, offering competitive performance for its generation at a lower cost than flagship controllers.
The SM2267 was used by brands without in-house NVMe controllers, including in the Kingston A2000. A DRAM-less sibling, the SM2267XT, targets budget DRAM-less drives using Host Memory Buffer instead.
