Marvell 88SS1074

Marvell SATA III (6 Gb/s) 8 drives in database

The Marvell 88SS1074 is a 4-channel DRAM-equipped SATA III controller used in the Crucial MX300, a successor to the 88SS9187 in Marvell's consumer SATA lineup, optimized for 3D TLC NAND; the MX300 was Crucial's first drive built on Micron 3D TLC flash. The 88SS1074 retains the DRAM cache architecture of its predecessors, pairing with a dedicated LPDDR3 or DDR3L chip for the flash translation layer. Marvell did not publish a public datasheet for the 88SS1074; most known specifications come from third-party teardowns and reviews of the MX300.
